Albert Hines is the father of seven biological children and three adopted children. He performed active duty in the United States Navy. He served in the Korean War. Albert worked for the City of Bakersfield and some years later obtained a job with the U.S. Post Office. He always worked a second and sometimes a third job to make sure his family was well taken care of. Albert, along with his wife Armentha, trained all of their children how to work and each child had employment around fourteen years of age. He and his wife also made sure that their children were faithful to church and to God. After retiring from the U.S. Postal Service after 39 years, Albert took a part-time job at McKinley Elementary School. He just couldn't stay still! He just recently gave up this last job after 12 years with the school district. In the midst of all this, he and his wife established Anchor of Hope Outreach Center in 2000. Fifteen years later, he and his wife are still going strong by helping to feed over 400 individuals and their children per month, providing counseling, clothing, transportation, work essential skills, employment opportunities and addressing literacy problems.
